ANA LUISA LOTAIF

Ana started studying Visual Arts but decided to transfer to Product Design two years later, because she felt a lack of support from teachers regarding her dyslexia. In the new course she began to take photos of the development of her works, which became a collection of photographic archives that are important to her. In November 2018 the artist created an Instagram to post her virtual memories. The purpose of the profile was to keep memories in one place, so that Ana could remember trips or family moments.

SELECTIVE MEMORY

The gaze is a universe full of meanings. The visual creator makes, in her records, successive choices in which she values daily life. In this way, what you select gains new dimensions. The details are treated as memories to be revisited, like a poetic diary that leads the photographer and the observer to interact, discussing why those fragments of everyday life gain new value when crystallized in the form of a subtle image.

ANA LUISA
by herself

I started studying Visual Arts, and after two years, I transferred to Product Design, as I wasn't getting the same support from my teachers as I had at the beginning of the course with regard to Dyslexia. Although in the same Faculty of Arts, in the Product Design course, as well as having fewer texts to read, I had more "hands-on" work, and I got used to recording all the development of the work in photos, which intensified my collection of an extensive photographic archive of what is important to me. I've developed my own language in my photographic recordings, both of work and of trips, outings, etc., the result of observing other photographers' work, mainly online, but maintaining my personal taste, sometimes with motifs that other people leave unnoticed (road signs, reflections on various surfaces and puddles, etc.).
