GELSON BINI
Unaware of his dyslexia, Gelson worked as a bookseller and found refuge in literature. This led to the creation of the Reading Guide project, which travels throughout the state of Santa Catarina, encouraging an interest in reading through storytelling with theatrical narratives. Now that he knows about his dyslexia, he wants to further inspire young people with dyslexia to enjoy reading.

Reading mediator and storyteller, Gelson Bini, creator and head of the Reading Guide project, works as a promoter of reading, visiting public schools, prisons, and cultural events. Gelson Bini has been promoting reading for over 10 years, visiting public schools, prisons, and cultural events. His approach to narrative creation is based on making the audience feel like a "we," that is, cohesive, but without each person losing their individuality. In this sense, the "we" of each individual is respected and used as a point of discussion of otherness, where messages are created, felt, passed on, and interpreted in a way that establishes a verbal patchwork quilt in which narratives are integrated into a movement that is simultaneously collective and diverse.

Reading entered my life as a refuge. Working as a bookseller in a bookstore in Jaraguá do Sul, I became a reading mediator, and then, after taking over a children's literature section, I became a storyteller. I conceived a project called Reading Guide, left the bookstore, and began traveling throughout the state of Santa Catarina, serving 22 cities. At that time, I didn't yet know I was dyslexic, but I have no doubt that dyslexia helped me in this process, both in storytelling and in reading mediation.
