PEDRO VILLA

Pedro Villa is a Salvador-born photographer whose work, "O Povo da Feira," portrays the complexity and vitality of the São Joaquim Fair, a space he describes as a vast "contraption" where religions, objects, and people intertwine. Fascinated by the chaotic yet integrated nature of the place, he sought to capture its diversity through a journalistic lens, after gaining the trust and permission of attendees. Dyslexia and ADHD permeate his creative process, leading him to revisit ideas in fragmented cycles, which he considers a source of innovation. He defines his experience as dyslexic with the word "tremulante," associating it with flashes of light that make him constantly reconfigure his way of thinking and creating.

THE PEOPLE OF THE FAIR

The thought that underlies Alemão's art is closely linked to a concept that he is very grateful to: that of preserving, even over the years, the purity of a child's gaze. This means maintaining purity and naivety, observing everything as if it were the first time. This gives him enormous creative freedom, as it allows him to escape from ready-made formulas and give each look new connotations, full of colors, shapes and emotions that refer to an instigating movement and the joy of existing. Thus, creations are marked by constant renewal, a perennial spring leading to an eternal rebirth.

of ideas.

by himself

Living with dyslexia is like the light flickering, you know, it goes out, comes back on and the moment it comes back on you is wanting to find his place again
