APATHY
The dance-video "Apathy", with the direction, choreography and interpretation by Renata de Lélis, brings a vision of the relation of a body facing itself and the world. The attempts to escape, by a window or an elevator, aren't successful. The title refers to a state of insensibility and indifference that leads to an inert posture. The efforts of the body are the searching for rebirth, evoked in the shining of the mythical phoenix, that, dying, combusted itself and was reborn from its ashes. The melody and lyrics from Rita Zart and NInca Nicolaiewsky represent that search for freedom and rebuilding. Daughter of artists, Renata was diagnosed with dyslexia at 17 years old, realizing that her difficult academic trajectory wasn't because she was an artist, but because she had characteristics like difficulty reading. Art, during all her personal process, as a refuge, an empowering mechanism and a way for facing prejudice and any other kind of personal and collective obliteration.

WHAT CREAKS
The body is treated in the video in order to establish multiple relationships with space. There is dialogue with an object such as the book, as well as the characters’ journey full of “stumbles”. Various environments emerge and nature dialogues with beings associated with technology and machines. Furthermore, the presence of the mythical figure of the centaur brings reflections on differences between essences and appearances, which strengthens the role of art as a “ranger”, that is, a thinking and doing that leads to glimpses of new and symbolic aspects of what we usually call reality.

VÉRNIX
The video features various artists using movement to express a wide range of emotions. The scenes, recorded on individual cell phones and later edited, feature hanging bodies, bathtubs, walking in the woods, or dancing near a wall, indoors or out. The versatility reflects the diversity of perspectives and relationships with the world, whether individual, collective, or holistic.

by herself
I started my journey at the age of 14, I am the daughter of artists and art has always been part of my life. I was diagnosed with dyslexia at age 17, because I started researching and ended up finding out. I didn't have support from my family who just thought I was different because I was an artist. My school trajectory was very tough, but art has always been a place of refuge and empowerment.
