GELSON BINI
Unaware of his dyslexia, Gelson worked as a bookseller and found refuge in literature. Hence the Reading Guide project, which circulates throughout the State of Santa Catarina, encouraging interest in reading through storytelling with theatrical narratives. With the knowledge of dyslexia, he wants even more to give young dyslexics an interest in reading.

Reading mediator and storyteller, Gelson Bini, creator and responsible for the Reading Guide project, acts as a reading promoter, visiting public schools, prisons and cultural events. His love for literature is due to the way he conceives the word as an institution that metamorphoses worldviews. Anyone who comes into contact with a story receives transformative potential, creating a magic that is renewed each time a narrative is heard.

Reading came into my life as a refuge. Working as a bookseller in a bookstore in Jaraguá do Sul, I became a reading mediator, and then, after taking over a children's literature department, I became a storyteller. I conceived a project called Guia de Leitura (Reading Guide), left the bookshop and started touring the state of Santa Catarina, visiting 22 cities. At the time, I still didn't know I was dyslexic, but I have no doubt that dyslexia helped me in this process, both in storytelling and in reading mediation.
