Lesse Pierre Lima
Lesse Pierre Lima is an art professor, visual artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. He taught the course "Authorial Process" at the Museum of Modern Art - SP, and others at the Choque Cultural gallery - SP, at IFSC University, and at the O Sítio cultural space in Florianópolis. He was the main assistant to the artist Doitschinoff. He has worked with DM9DDB, Imaginarium, Mood, Santa Clara Nitro, Möve Art, and Bendito Design. He has illustrated for Folha de São Paulo, Editora Gestalten, Editora Abril, and Editora SM. He was an animator for TV Pinguim. In the theater group Cia dos Inquietos, he was responsible for the set design and visual identity of the play Oliver - which was presented at the MIS in São Paulo. In 2012, he received the Bronze Lion in Cannes for the +Arte project, organized by the Brazilian Academy of Art and the DM9DDB agency. In 2017, he won the 5th Folha de São Paulo Illustration Contest in the Caricature category, and also in 2017, 3rd place in the Alliance Française Contemporary Art award. He was born in Pernambuco, in the small town of Afogados da Ingazeira, and currently lives in Florianópolis.

TRY
I thought about the impact of Right and Wrong, how our relationships are built upon it. This is a simplistic thought about our capacity to relate, through language and its definitions.
I believe that what's right isn't really a direction. Perhaps what's right isn't even right. Probably a mistake that was accepted.
The word "Try" brought perspective. "Try" - Represents the ambiguity that the verb "to try" provokes. To employ means to achieve, to put into execution, insistence, persistence in the face of attempts. "To try" - Also means to create will, desire, want, ascend. To awaken the will (in someone) to do something. Tempting.
Trying is action and reaction.
The previously unseen canvases included in the composition represent the different paths I am exploring.
I don't know! - This phrase seeks comfort in our limitations. Neon is a noble light. Light symbolically represents wisdom, knowledge, and solutions.

ESSAY - I AM SEEN
Painting has a subtle ability to transport us to other dimensions. Lese Pierre Lima's series "I Am Seen" possesses precisely this marvelous potential to bring permanent questions to the observer. The images invite a gaze upon bodies that resemble landscapes. Or is it the other way around? It hardly matters. The great question that the works raise lies in discussing painting itself and the ways in which it imitates, represents, and interprets the known world to lead to reflections on who we are and how we understand the world. The artist, who discovered he had dyslexia at age 27 thanks to a writer who noticed his difficulty with letters and numbers, learned about the subject through therapy and books. A visual artist, he addresses interpersonal relationships in his series, giving the theme diverse approaches and perspectives.

90 HOURS
The book “90 Oras” was written using the Ramos alphabet, developed by its creator between 2011 and 2013. Composed of 90 words with 3 letters each, the project does not seek to create a code based on the Latin alphabet or a reinterpretation of known typographic images of the letter. It is a safe space where an unknown exists that only loses its validity when it becomes known. It feeds precisely on this paradox.
Each word is a soundless form established according to its creator's experience with them.
Thus emerge visual poems in which the translation of the graphically represented word demands the discovery of the letters in Ramos, in a process that revives literacy.
Thus, the image does not refer to a sound, and is therefore not a word within traditional writing. The challenge is thus lyrically established.

JUMP SERIES
The fascinating dynamics of the human body are the main motivation for the artist's aesthetic research. The movement inherent in the Olympic high jump captivates the visual creator in his quest to express how the whole is positioned in space. The pictorial dialogue between the background tones and those of the athlete's skin and clothing makes the image a vigorous plastic expression. It is an expression of love for the human capacity to, for a few seconds, be a bird – and fly.

FERTILITY
The images contain evidence pointing to an integration between human beings and the environment. This reasoning can also be applied to the relationships of neurodiverse people with the world. In this existential journey, there is the possibility of experiencing situations in which the plural personal pronoun "we" prevails over several "we," such as ignorance and prejudice regarding various differences and their impacts throughout life, from childhood and education to adulthood and affective and professional relationships.

DUNES | CONCEIÇÃO LAGOON
The two images presented create dialogues between dunes, lagoons, and women. The subtlety of the lines is present as a way of seeing the dialogues and interactions between these elements, so that, respectively, nature, the feminine, and water communicate as instances of diverse and complementary ways of relating to the world, from the perspective that suggesting is more important than revealing.

In my childhood, school was a nightmare. I experienced peaks of knowing a lot of things and other moments of forgetting everything. Reading even made me nauseous. I found it very difficult.
The first book I read was by Fernando Pessoa. Poems, a very thin book. It was recommended by my teacher in the 4th grade. She liked to hear me explain the poem and gave me credit for it. I enjoy studying, and I've developed a way of organizing my subjects—a didactic taxonomy.
I believe that everything that enters my memory becomes a hybrid. I am a creator of hybrids.
Therapy helped me understand a lot of what I was feeling. And it was a new phase for me. A phase that I enjoyed understanding/discovering myself in.
This relationship with dyslexia is a story of persistence and repetition.
Complicated, to sum it up.
