LESE PIERRE
Lese Pierre Lima is an art teacher, visual artist, illustrator and graphic designer.
He taught the "author process" course at the Museum of Modern Art - SP, and others, at the Choque Cultural gallery - SP, at the IFSC University and at the cultural space O Sítio, in Florianópolis. He was the main assistant to the artist Doitschinoff. He worked with DM9DDB, Imaginarium, Mood, Santa Clara Nitro, Möve Art and Bendito Design. He illustrated for Folha de São Paulo, Editora Gestalten, Editora Abril, Editora SM. He was an animator for TV Penguim. At the Cia dos Inquietos theater group, he was responsible for the scenography and visual identity of the show Oliver - which was presented at MIS, in São Paulo. In 2012, he received the Bronze Lion in Cannes for the +Arte project, organized by the Brazilian Academy of Art and the agency DM9DDB; in 2017, he won the 5th Folha de São Paulo Illustration Contest in the Caricature category, and, also in 2017, 3rd place in the French Alliance of Contemporary Art award. He was born in Pernambuco, in the small town of Afogados da Ingazeira and currently lives in Florianópolis.

The artist:
“I thought about the impact of right and wrong, and how our relationships are built from them. I gave our ability to relate to our actions a simple thought. Through language and its definitions. I believe that right isn’t a direction. Maybe right isn’t right anyway. Probably was just the acceptance of an error.
The verb to try brought me perspective. Try - a verb that induces ambiguity. Put effort on execution, insistence, persistence in face of attempts. Try - is also desire, will, uprise. Tempting.
Trying is action and reaction.
Unpublished canvas in the compositions shows that I keep trying new ways.
“Eu não sei!” (I don’t know!) - that phrase seeks a position of comfort from our limitations. Neon is a noble light. The light symbolically represents wisdom, knowledge, and solution."

ESSAY - I'M VISTA
The painting has a subtle capacity to transport us to other dimensions. The series “Sou vista”, by Lese Pierre Lima, possesses exactly this wonderful potential of bringing up permanent inquiries to the viewer. The images invite an view of bodies that look like landscapes. Or is it the opposite? Doesn’t matter. The great question that the works bring up is in discussing the painting itself and the ways in which it mimics, represents and interprets the world known to us to conduct to reflections about what we are and how we understand what the world is like. The artist, that found out about his dyslexia at 27 years old, thanks to a redator that realized that he had difficulty with letters and numbers, got to know more about it by bringing the subject to therapy and reading books. Visual artist, talks in his series about interpersonal relationships, giving the subject very different approaches and points of view.

90 ORAS
The book "90 Oras" was written using the Ramos alphabet, produced by its creator between 2011 and 2013. Consisting of 90 words with 3 letters each, the project isn't trying to find a code based on the Latin alphabet or doing a re-reading of typographical images known as letters. It's about having a safe space in which exists an unknown that only loses its validation when it's known. It feeds exactly from this paradox.
Each word is a soundless form established alongside the experience of its creator in relation to them.
So, there arise visual poems in which the translation of the word is represented graphically and demands the discovery of letters in Ramos, in a process that rescues alphabetization.
This way, the image does not link to a sound, therefore, not being a word inside traditional writing. The challenge is lyrically established.

JUMP SERIES
The fascinating dynamics of the human body are the main motivation for the artist's aesthetic research. The movement that exists in the Olympic high jump modality enchants the visual creator in his quest to express how the set is positioned in space. The pictorial dialogue between the tones of the background and those of the athlete's skin and clothing make the image a vigorous plastic expression. It is an expression of an act of love for the human ability to, for a few seconds, be a bird – and fly.

FERTILITY
The images contain elements pointing to an integration between humans and the environment. This reasoning can also be applied to the relationships of neurodiverse people with the world. In this existential journey, there is the possibility of experiencing situations where the plural pronoun “we” prevails over various “knots,” such as ignorance and prejudice towards differences and their impacts on life, from childhood and education to adulthood and professional and personal relationships.

As a child, school was a nightmare. There were peaks of knowing a lot and other moments of forgetting everything. Reading made me nauseous. It was very difficult.
The first book I read was by Fernando Pessoa. Poems, very fine book. On the recommendation of my teacher in 4th grade. She enjoyed listening to me explaining the poem. And she graded me for it.
I have a taste for study, and I have developed a way of separating my subjects. A didactic taxonomy.
I believe that everything that enters my memory becomes a hybrid. I'm a hybrid breeder.
Therapy helped to understand a good part of what I felt. And it was a new phase for me. A phase that I enjoyed understanding/discovering myself.
This relationship with dyslexia is a story of insistence and repetition.
Complicated synthesize.
