Tiago has had a strong connection with art since a young age. Coming from the interior of Bahia, he was exposed to theater and music through church performances. Later, after realizing he was dyslexic, he found in visual art, especially film, photography, and audiovisual media, a way to express himself and communicate intensely with the public.

DYSLEXIA PHOTOGRAPHIC PROJECT
Dyslexia, a learning disorder characterized, among other symptoms, by difficulty reading, presents multiple facets and variations. In 2020, to escape anxiety crises during the pandemic, Tiago Vinícios Araújo created the Dyslexia Photographic Project. It became a way to express pain, anguish, and despair in the face of what he was experiencing at that moment. This photo visually establishes links between the imbalance of letters and the challenges of reading. They appear misaligned, and an inverted "E" explicitly shows the different vision a dyslexic person has of a text, with all the consequences this can bring in terms of societal prejudice. Tiago himself suffered an anxiety crisis in 2018 after being ridiculed in the classroom, which led him to seek help from a specialist, with care from a multidisciplinary team. In this way, the barriers and shackles of adversity can become images of liberation.

FEMALE PORTRAITS
The series of images that the photographer is working on with a Black woman raises very important issues for this visual creator.
One of them lies in their ability to be empathetic in order to create a favorable atmosphere so that the model, especially when taking on this role for the first time, can feel comfortable enough to shine brightly during the shoot.
The art of photography, in this context, is a journey in which it is necessary to extract the maximum from those moments, both in terms of light and shadows, and in terms of interaction with the professional who tries, in a unique way, to transform those ephemeral moments into eternal records that everyone involved can be proud of.

OUR PLURAL IS SINGULAR
An extension of the Dyslexia Photography Project, “Our Plural is Singular” focuses on the concept of overcoming challenges through images that present the body as a space of affection. Images of embraces and encounters show how self-knowledge and self-esteem are essential for living with oneself in a mentally healthy way. In this respect, photographs of people working in various fields are essential to reinforce that every person, neurodivergent or not, has their own pain and scars. Delving into these marks is an important and significant step towards working in diverse professions and areas of knowledge.

Art has been a part of my life since I was very young. I've been a Christian (Evangelical) since childhood and have been involved in all kinds of art since I was very young.
I remember my first performance alongside other children in a theatrical presentation. On that occasion, I recited Psalm 23, dressed as a sheep at only 4 years old, having many speech difficulties; at the time I stuttered so much that people had trouble understanding what I was saying. However, the performing arts, music in general, and later the visual arts, specifically film and audiovisual media, would show me that there are no limits to artistic expression.
Now that I am aware that I have dyslexia, I use all my artistic abilities to express my joy, euphoria, pain, anguish, and anything else that bothers me.
Above all, I use artistic portraits to photograph shy people who have never been photographed before. I believe that dyslexia enhances my level of empathy, allowing me to communicate sensitively and thus guide the person being photographed in a unique way.
Dyslexia allows me to have a completely different view and perception of the world around me than non-dyslexic people. This factor enhances my artistic vision and helps me to see light and shadow in unlikely places. The result is always met with enthusiasm by the people photographed and by the viewers.
